Data Retention Policy
Last updated October 2026
Short version: your data lives on SilentBid, auctions are deleted automatically 180 days after they close, and you can erase yours sooner at any time.
What we keep
Organizer details (name, email, phone), your auctions and items, uploaded photos and logos, and, for each auction, the bids and the name, email and phone number of each bidder.
Where it lives
Only on SilentBid. We don’t keep copies, exports or spreadsheets of your data anywhere else. The only copy outside the site is any report you download yourself.
You are in control
From any auction, use “Erase all data” to permanently remove the auction and everything related to it, including all bidder information. Once you have removed all your auctions, you can delete your own account from Account settings. Erasing is immediate and can’t be undone, so download your bidder report first. Otherwise, download it within 180 days of closing.
How long we keep it
Auctions are deleted automatically 180 days after they close, unless you erase them sooner. Auctions you remove with the regular Delete button are held for 7 days in case you change your mind, then permanently deleted. Site visit logs, which hold IP addresses, are deleted after 30 days.
Who has access
No third party has access to your data. We never sell it or share it with anyone. The hosting, database and email-delivery services that run SilentBid handle it only on our behalf, to operate the site, and nothing more.
